| Considerations for Selecting Degree | Studio art is the discipline of making and creating woks that have a visual and conceptual validity. The powers of observation and contemplation are vigorously trained and blonded to the forces of the intellect and the creative act. The majoring student receives a balanced education in various processes necessary for a solid grounding as an artist and the investigative mentality necessary to make critical decisions as a creative individual. RMC Honor Society Please note: Students enrolled at Randolph-Macon College attend classes primarily Monday-Friday between 8 am - 5 pm with very few evening courses. The large majority of RMC coursework is offered in-person and on campus. A very limited selection of online courses is offered in summer sessions. No more than one half of the courses on a major or minor can be transferred; at least one-half of the semester hours of the major or minor must be taken at Randolph-Macon. |

| Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses | We are close to Richmond and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and close to all the world-class museums in Washington, DC. In studio classes, each student gets to work side-by-side with the artist-instructor. This is essential to the development of the observational artist. |
| Doing More With Your Degree | Students also have the opportunity to travel through courses such as Two students recently studied abroad in Japan during their Fall semester. Each took several studio/cultural classes while enrolled in a Japanese University. Graduates from our program are employed with companies such as Hanover Country Schools, Henrico County Schools, Goochland County Schools, Randolph-Macon College, University of Richmond Other graduates have continued their studies in programs such as VCU |
