Patrick & Henry Community College
History: P&HCC is one of 23 community colleges in Virginia and was founded in 1962 as a two-year branch of the University of Virginia's School of General Studies. P&HCC became an autonomous two-year college of the university two years later. Serving Martinsville, Henry County, and Patrick County, P&HCC is a comprehensive open-door institution, accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate degrees

Sports, Fitness, and Student Activities:
P&HCC offers 13 National Junior
College Athletic Association (NJCAA)-sanctioned teams for men and women. The
Patriots also have a cheerleading and bass fishing team.
Outside the classroom, P&HCC students participate in clubs and organizations (such as the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society), theater productions, art exhibits, regular student activities. Students may take advantage of free tutoring sessions, various off-campus trips, and cultural events.
