July 2023:

The Summer 2023 release includes a redesigned home page with frequently used functions featured in a rotating panel. A major new feature included in this release is My Fastest Degree. This functionality lets students, with a portal account, see how quickly they can complete degrees based on their portfolio credits, from colleges that have Transfer Virginia program plans. About Transfer Virginia gives a brief history of the initiative, and links to FAQs, How-To Videos, and a Glossary. The release also includes new features for staff users at partner schools to more efficiently manage and validate their data files, and interactively add and maintain equivalencies.

April 2023:

The Spring 2023 release highlights Transfer Guides for Business, Education, Computer Science, Engineering, and General Transfer in the Resource Center. See course requirements at the community college and 4-year schools. More disciplines will be added later this spring and summer. Under Events, a student can filter by participating institutions. Programs can now be filtered by Special Initiatives to include Online Virginia Network (OVN).

November 2022:

The Fall 2022 release highlights program plans, the requirements needed to complete over 2000 certificates and degrees. In most cases, a student can see how their transfer credits satisfy a particular program requirement. Also new are the first major-specific Transfer Guides providing students with specific course recommendations and requirements at the community college and 4-year schools. The Resource Center now has short How-To Videos that show features of the portal.

Spring 2022:

This release has several new features. Two major features that we highlight are:

  • The ability to upload your VCCS or Richard Bland College transcript to build your portfolio. Instructions for downloading a portal compatible transcript for these institutions are available on the Upload Transcript page.
  • You can now add industry credentials, such as Microsoft certifications, to your portfolio and check their college course equivalency.

39 colleges and universities from around Virginia are available fully in the portal today. Learn about 21 more colleges and universities through Future Transfer Partners.
