How are Dual Enrollment Credits Treated | No distinction will be made by RMC regarding college courses applicable to the respective associate degree that are taken through dual enrollment arrangements with high schools. |
If You Complete an Associates Degree in High School | This GAA is not applicable to students earning an associate degree concurrent with high school. Additionally, students who were previously enrolled at RMC and transferred back to Richard Bland College to complete the transfer-oriented associate degree are not eligible for participation in the GAA. |
Key Additional Requirements | The RMC - GAA Transfer Guide provides transparency about expectations, benefits, and recommendations for all students entering under this agreement and is general to all academic programs. Students interested in a specific RMC program should refer to the respective program-specific Transfer Guide if available. All Transfer Guides are located in the Resource Center. To participate in this Guaranteed Admission Agreement (GAA), students must submit a Letter of Intent to Transfer after completing 45 transferable credits and must complete an AA, AS, or AA&S degree. GAA students must complete the RMC transfer application and submit all required materials by June 1 for all admission and December 1 for spring admission. Students admitted under the GAA are not required to submit standardized test scores. Official transcripts must be submitted at the time of application. A final transcript reflecting the completion of the approved associate degree and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 must be submitted prior to matriculation at RMC. VCCS or Richard Bland credits for courses completed through Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Armed Services experiences, and other prior learning assessments will not automatically be eligible for individual transfer to RMC; such courses will be evaluated according to RMC’s policy on credit-by-examination. Specific course recommendations and requirements will be designated in the Transfer Guide. This GAA assumes that there are no other factors in a student’s academic or personal record that might prevent acceptance (e.g., academic suspension or dismissal, felony conviction). Students with additional academic or disciplinary considerations will be reviewed for the GAA on a case-by-case basis. |
