The Department of Psychology offers the Bachelor of Arts Degree with concentrations in General Psychology, Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education, and Teacher Certification in Special Education. It plays a significant role in the overall mission of the University by contributing to the development of human resources through instruction in the behavioral sciences. Graduates from the three undergraduate programs offered by this department will be prepared to assume important roles in the community as paraprofessionals, teachers and behavioral science researchers. All programs are designed to prepare students for rigorous graduate training in psychology.

Considerations for Selecting Degree	This program requires a three-credit-hour Practicum experience before graduating.
Considerations When Selecting Courses	Students are advised to complete a behavioral statistics course before transfer or within the first two semesters after transfer. Transfer Guidance Element	What You Need to Know
Associate Transfer Degree Completion	Completion of the general education certificate or a transfer-oriented associate degree program will guarantee completion of the University Core general education component of the NSU undergraduate curriculum but may not fulfill specific departmental requirements or prerequisites needed for the major.
Completion of Associate Degree Concurrent with High School	Students earning an associate degree while in high school are not eligible for guaranteed admission programs and must complete 3 college-specific general education courses. All courses are evaluated and trasnferred as applicable to your degree.
Credit for Prior Learning	We accept AP, IB, and CLEP results for college credit if the score earned meets college expectations.
