| Considerations for Selecting Degree | The PSYC major prepares students for OT, PT, MD, PA and graduate level psychology programs. If pursuing OT, PT, MD, PA, students must take other prerequisites for graduate school. The BS degree is especially useful in this regard. |

Students should complete statistics in their first three semesters so they can enroll in PSYC 211 Research Design. They also must complete PSYC 102 for most upper level electives. They must complete PSYC 101 for their choice of one from: 316/318/320

| Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses | Students may need transportation if they choose to complete an internship as the capstone. Students can also choose to complete an individual research project or independent study instead.We encourage internships for students most interested in clinical and counseling psychology and research projects for those applying to graduate school after graduation, though students can complete both. |
| Doing More With Your Degree | The PSYC major prepares students for OT, PT, MD, PA and graduate level psychology programs. If pursuing OT, PT, MD, PA, students must take other prerequisites for graduate school. Our department has a study abroad course, a robust internship program, and many options for independent research and travel to present research at conferences. |
| Program Successes & Highlights | Because psychology at E&H in in the natural sciences, half of our courses have labs, which allows for rich and meaningful hands-on experience. We have a robust internship program that prepares students for the world of work and many opportunities to conduct independent research, both of which serve as an advantage on employment and graduate school applications. We take 5-10 students to professional conferences each year, where students often win Psi Chi International Society in Psychology research awards. |

| Associate Transfer Degree Completion | Completion of the Uniform Certificate of General Studies or an AA/AS degree program will guarantee completion of the 'Think,
Understand & Create' liberal arts core component of the E&H undergraduate curriculum but may not fulfill specific departmental requirements or prerequisites needed for the major. Other elements of the core curriculum may need to be met if not taken as part of the AA/AS degree. Students will be required to complete CORE 200 and CORE 300 at E&H. Students completing at least 56 credits following high school graduation but before transferring to E&H are exempt from CORE 100, CORE 103, and Emory Abroad/Global Citizenship. |
Completion of Associate Degree Concurrent with High School | Only students who have completed college credit elsewhere following high school graduation will be exempt from the Core Curriculum requirement. Completion of courses that satisfy elements of the Care & Cultural Competency and Think, Understand & Create elements of the curriculum will be awarded equivalent credit with an earned grade of C or better. Students completing the Uniform Certificate of General Studies or an AA/AS degree program concurrently with their high school diploma will not be exempt from CORE 100, CORE 103, or Emory Abroad/Global Citizenship. |
