The Psychology major is designed to provide a fundamental knowledge of psychological principles, theories and research. The psychology department prepares students to apply psychological principles to personal, social and organizational issues. Students majoring in psychology will be prepared to enter a career in human services or continue study at the graduate level.

Considerations for Selecting Degree Our students should expect small class sizes that are mostly taught by full-time faculty (no graduate student instructors) and require active engagement. Our classes are also in high demand and fill up quickly during registration periods.
Considerations When Selecting Courses

Students should take the following courses before their junior year: Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, Lifespan Development, Abnormal Psychology.

Associate Transfer Degree Completion Completion of an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Arts and Science will guarantee completion of general education requirements.

Completion of Associate Degree Concurrent with High School Completion of an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Arts and Science prior to high school graduation will guarantee completion of general education requirements with the exception that the First Year Seminar (3 credits) must be completed upon enrollment to SU.
