The program's goal is to equip students with the ability to work comfortably in multiple areas of the global marketplace through interdisciplinary study. International business majors take specialized courses in all the business disciplines (e.g. international finance, international marketing), as well as courses in a foreign language.

To ensure success, competency in a second language and thorough exposure to a chosen second culture are graduation requirements. In addition, study abroad or an international internship in a country where the chosen second language is spoken, is a graduation requirement.

• MTH courses typically must be taken in specific orders to satisfy prerequisite requirements. As you plan your MTH courses based on the transfer guide, work backwards from the highest numbered courses to determine a path of courses that will take you from your initial course placement to the higher numbered courses. Be sure to consult an advisor at your community college for information about the semesters in which specific courses are offered.
• For students interested in taking applied statistics courses, note that MTH 245 satisfies the prerequisite for many 300-level statistics electives.
• If you are considering double majoring or adding a minor, plan to complete preliminary courses for those programs, if possible, before transfer.

International business majors can choose an optional concentration in finance or marketing. Some international business majors also declare a second major, such as foreign language or another business area. Most international business majors will have a minor in their foreign language (e.g. Business Spanish). Other minors that may be of interest are Economics, Global Supply Chain, Business Analytics and Asian Studies.

The College of Business is among only 5% of business schools with accreditation by AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). The finance program is in the CFA University Affiliate program, and we offer CFA scholarships each year to graduating seniors who participate in the CFA level I program.
