Considerations for Selecting Degree | Did you know that a degree in math leads to many exciting careers in areas such as actuarial science, chemistry, computer science, cryptography, economics, finance, forensic science, scientific research, or physics? An associate's degree in mathematics e prepares you to pursue a bachelor's degree from a four-year school majoring in mathematics, mathematics education, or statistics. This program's versatility makes it a suitable foundation for students pursing bachelor's degrees in physics, chemistry, engineering, or computer science. Students have successfully transferred to schools such as Virginia Tech, University of Virginia, Radford University, George Mason University, and James Madison University. |
Considerations When Selecting Courses |
This curriculum is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution and major in mathematics, mathematics education, or statistics. This program is suitable for students pursing baccalaureate degrees in physics, chemistry, engineering, or computer science.
|
Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses | Students who do not demonstrate readiness for the college-level math will be required to select appropriate MDE coursework in consultation with an advisor. |
Doing More With Your Degree | Students who intend to transfer should verify specific program requirements with their four-year institution. |
