Considerations When Selecting Courses

You should consider introductory level courses and work diligently to accomplish the non-theatre requirements of the degree. We will want you to take the vast majority of your theatre requirements in our program.

  • Create a schedule for all required courses, pay attention to prerequisites and when courses are offered, complete your first math and English courses in your first year
  • Connect with an advisor at your community college and University of Mary Washington within your first year via College Connect
Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses
Doing More With Your Degree Because students have a great deal of flexibility with required elective courses in the major, they can focus their studies on the aspect of theatre that interests them most—acting, design, technology, history, and literature. Students can easily double-major with another discipline, or pursue minors—many theatre majors also minor in arts administration and/or musical theatre.
Program Successes & Highlights We have an impressive track record of placing our graduates in professional opportunities upon graduation. We focus on this goal as soon as you arrive on campus.
