BA in Economics
Bachelor of ArtsHollins University
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree program in Economics seeks to train its students in the analytical and dialectical skills necessary for the understanding and application of theory in the various important areas of economics, business, finance, and related disciplines, including international studies and environmental studies. To enhance student skills, courses have substantial writing, quantitative and oral-presentation components. Students may follow a General Economics track or choose an Applied Economics track.
Outcomes
SLO 1: Students will demonstrate increasing proficiency in and retention of core economic knowledge: concepts and theories of macroeconomics and microeconomics at the introductory and intermediate level. SLO 2: Students will demonstrate increasing proficiency in quantitative literacy as applied to economic problems and concerns. SLO 3: Students will demonstrate mastery of the research process through written and oral communication venues

Completion of Associate Degree Concurrent with High School | Students earning an associate degree while in high school are not eligible for guaranteed admission programs and must complete general education courses. All courses are evaluated and transferred as applicable to your degree. |
Credit for Prior Learning | We accept AP and IB results for college credit if the score earned meets college expectations. Transfer credits will be considered for CLEP (College Level Examination Program) on an individual basis for examinations if Hollins offers a comparable course. |
