| Considerations When Selecting Courses |
Math courses are helpful. It is also helpful to have taken calculus based physics. Students planning advanced study in chemistry should elect to take Physics 311 and other courses in consultation with the faculty advisor. Students planning advanced study in health fields should elect to take Biology 117, 210 or 211, and other courses in consultation with the faculty advisor.

| Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses | Students majoring in Chemistry (BA) will complete a senior project by enrolling in CHEM 450. Satisfactory performance on departmental assessments is also a required part of earning your Chemistry degree. |
| Doing More With Your Degree | There are many opportunities for undergraduate research with faculty at Emory & Henry College. Our students have also been successful in applying for extramural summer research opportunities at larger university and national laboratories. Emory & Henry College also has an alumni funded program to support these opportunities in the natural sciences. |

Understand & Create' liberal arts core component of the E&H undergraduate curriculum but may not fulfill specific departmental requirements or prerequisites needed for the major. Other elements of the core curriculum may need to be met if not taken as part of the AA/AS degree. Students will be required to complete CORE 200 and CORE 300 at E&H.
