The University of Virginia's College at Wise
At UVA Wise, our sport management program of study is centered on student-centered and project-based learning. Class assignments include real-world application and have empowered students to develop business plans for their own health and wellness-related businesses, create reports as if they were owners of a stock car in the Daytona 500 NASCAR race, and organize and teach physical activity lessons in local high schools. They've also interned in with the College's athletic training staff, at nearby Norton Community Hospital, atÿprestigious golf courses in Bristol, Va., and with the Kingsport Mets minor league baseball team. This major is ideal for kickstarting your career in special events promotion and management, sports marketing, budgeting and personnel within sport organizations, and work of many kinds for professional sports organizations. It will also prepare you to pursue prestigious graduate programs in human performance, education, and more.

| Doing More With Your Degree | Sports Management majors enjoy a variety of interesting options for completing their 9-hour internship. Examples have been working in minor league baseball, NASCAR, our own athletics department, local school systems, and more. They are also encouraged to participate in our Kinesiology Club. |
