Considerations for Selecting Degree This AEMT program serves as the first semester of the Paramedic program at RCC. Successful completion of this program, with or without the National Registry for AEMT certification, will allow the interested students to progress to the 2nd and final semester of the Paramedic Career Studies Certificate.
Considerations When Selecting Courses

Students must select a course for each course requirement from the applicable required course list.

  • Create a schedule for all required courses, pay attention to prerequisites and when courses are offered, complete your first math and English courses in your first year
  • Connect with an advisor at your community college and Rappahannock Community College within your first year
Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses All courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.
Doing More With Your Degree Upon completion of the AEMT Career Studies Certificate students will be eligible for National Registry testing, resulting in National Registry certification as well as certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
