This program prepares students for a job as a dietary manager. Graduates are prepared for the Certified Dietary Managers certification exam.
Outcomes
By the completion of this program, students will be expected to demonstrate an intermediate level of competency in the following skills:
- Apply food safety and sanitation standards in health care food service operations.
- Implement medical nutrition therapies in health care faclities.
- Demonstrate the skills necessary to pass the nationally recognized Association of Nutrition and Food Service Professional (ANFPP) Certified Dietary Manager (CDM/Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP) exam.
- Evaluate and communicate the relationship among nutrition, human development, and lifestyle on disease prevention.

Before enrolling in the capstone internship course, students must submit to a criminal background check, drug screening and physical examination with immunizations. The program requires additional expenditures for the student’s health assessment, immunizations, urine drug screen, criminal background check, uniforms, supplies and equipment as required by the supervised practice site as part of the internship course. |
