Associate of Applied Science of Human Services

Blue Ridge Community College

Human Services program allows students to prepare for employment as paraprofessionals in a wide variety of human service agencies. Graduates can be employed in agencies working with the intellectually disabled, mentally ill or elderly. As a social worker, students can work in mental health, corrections, substance abuse, health care and community service agencies. The program provides transfer options to Mary Baldwin University and James Madison University.

HMS 100 should be taken in the Fall semester of the first year.

Associate Transfer Degree Completion SDV 100, College Success Skills, will be granted to all students who have completed an associate degree or baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

BRCC will award applicable transfer credit for courses completed at other post-secondary educational institutions, provided certain criteria are met.
