Health Sciences (BS) - Physical Therapy Specialization

This undergraduate program, grounded in the university's Liberal Arts Core, provides students resources for developing professional skills in exercise testing, physical activity leadership, health and fitness assessment, exercise programming, wellness coaching, planning health promotion programs, and public health. Graduates are prepared for beginning administrative, supervisory, and leadership positions in commercial and community health and athletic clubs, corporate fitness and wellness programs, and public health nonprofit and government agencies, and for undertaking graduate study in health education, exercise science, occupational therapy, athletic training, chiropractic medicine, physical therapy, and public health. In addition, qualified students may apply for an accelerated B.S. to M.S. program in public health education and promotion.

Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses
Doing More With Your Degree We offer a PT scholar program, for transfer students. Meeting a certain GPA at admissions and maintaining that GPA while at Marymount guarantees entry to DPT program. Students not in scholars program also eligible for mentorship from DPT faculty on campus to assist with application process to graduate programs. All students complete an internship- we have several in the PT field

Associate Transfer Degree Completion Completion of a transfer-oriented associates degree program will fulfill the majority of the university's Liberal Arts Core (general education) requirements but may not fulfill specific departmental requirements or prerequisites for the major. Students will be required to complete a designated theology course at Marymount. Marymount also accepts the UCGS and Passport programs to meet Liberal Arts Core requirements.
