The major in English is particularly helpful for students who wish to teach English at the secondary level, pursue careers in writing or editing, attend law school or prepare for theological studies, or pursue studies in literature at the graduate level. Combined with other appropriate studies, the major in literature is excellent preparation for the fields of medicine and business.

Doing More With Your Degree | Students often take advantage of the opportunity to get a Secondary Education minor that will enable to teach at the high school level. Department minors include French, German, Hispanic and Hispanic-American Studies, and Spanish. Graduates may pursue jobs in teaching, publishing, corporate technical writing, medicine, law as well as graduate school opportunities in literature, writing and pedagogy, and more. |
