What is Tartan Transfer?
Tartan Transfer is a collaboration with Radford University and nine participating Virginia Community College System (VCCS) schools designed to ensure access and affordability:
- Danville Community College
- Mountain Empire Community College
- Mountain Gateway Community College
- New River Community College
- Patrick and Henry Community College
- Southwest Virginia Community College
- Virginia Highlands Community College
- Virginia Western Community College
- Wytheville Community College

How to Participate in Tartan Transfer
Eligibility Criteria
In order to participate in the Tartan Transfer program, students must:
- Have a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average*
- Be enrolled in a transferable associate degree program
*Note: a minimum of 2.0 cumulative grade point average is required to join Tartan Transfer. However, a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of graduation from the community college is required to matriculate to Radford. University.

Steps to Enroll:
- Submit the Declaration of Intent Form. This Declaration of Intent serves as an abbreviated admissions application and you may select your intended entry term up to two years in advance. If the transfer admissions application is open for the term you intend to enroll at Radford University, the declaration of intent can no longer be submitted. The admission application opens August 1 each year for the upcoming academic year. Once the admission application is open, you should apply for admission rather than submit the declaration of intent.
- Upload unofficial transcripts from all U.S. and international colleges/universities attended within your declaration OR request official copies be sent to admissions@radford.edu; if this is your first semester enrolled at the community college, please also submit a copy of your high school transcript.

Note: students who have previously attended Radford University will need to reapply through the readmission process and not eligible to participate in Tartan Transfer.
