Gender, sexuality and womens studies provides broad interpretation and view of diversity, including interdisciplinary, cross-cultural examination of womens perspectives and experiences, masculinity and femininity, heterosexuality and alternate sexualities as culturally constructed and socially experienced. Undergraduate degree is good preparation for graduate study, as well as other areas such as health, public administration, business. Obtain leadership roles in school or community organizations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills imperative for careers related to education, law, politics, government. Gain experience in fundraising and grant writing. Nonprofit and educational organizations often funded this way. Part-time and summer jobs, internships, volunteer positions critical to gaining experience and skills employers seek.

Credit for Prior Learning: VCU accepts AP, IB, Cambridge, CLEP, DANTES, military credits.

Catalog Year: VCU honors degree requirements from Undergraduate Bulletin at time of first post-high-school enrollment in appropriate associate degree. Students stay enrolled at community college max 4 years, enroll at VCU within 1 year of completing associate.
