If you complete a transferable associate degree, Marymount's Liberal Arts Core requirements will be waived, except for one course in Theology and Religious Studies (TRS 100).

 

You must complete major requirements and reach the minimum overall credit and GPA requirements.

 

Admission to some programs at Marymount is competitive and may require specific prerequisites for admission. Students are NOT guaranteed admission to these competitive majors under the terms of this agreement.

 

Marymount offers some majors that require 39-45 credits of major course work. These majors could be completed in two years at Marymount upon completion of a transferable associate degree at a VCCS institution. They are: Digital Writing and Narrative Design, Communication, Criminal Justice, Political Science and International Relations, and Psychology.

Which Majors Will Be Available To Me Through This GAA?

  • Marymount offers some majors that require 39-45 credits of major coursework. Upon completing a transferable associate's degree at a VCCS institution, these majors could be completed in two years at Marymount. They are Digital Writing and Narrative Design, Communication, Criminal Justice, Political Science and International Relations, and Psychology.

  • Students will work with their academic advisors to determine their best path to completing their desired bachelor's degree.

 

What Is The Impact On My Degree Of Work I Have Already Completed?

  • Associate Transfer Degree Completion: The completion of the transfer-oriented degree program will satisfy the Core Curriculum (lower division/general education) requirements except for a required Inquiry into Theology course. Students must complete all other University, college, and departmental requirements to obtain the baccalaureate degree from MU.

  • Dual Enrollment -- Completion of Associate Degree in High School: Marymount's Liberal Arts Core requirements will be waived for high school students who complete a transferable associate degree, except for one course in Theology and Religious Studies (TRS 100).

  • Credit for Prior Learning: Credits are reviewed, and a decision is granted from the Registrar.

  • Catalog Year: Students will be subject to the catalog in effect at the time of enrollment at MU unless otherwise requested.
