School of Professional & Continuing Studies, University of Richmond

Richmond, Virginia

The School of Professional & Continuing Studies (SPCS) is the continuing and professional education unit of the University of Richmond. We offer part-time undergraduate and graduate programs for non-residential students. If you are interested in first-year or transfer admission as a full-time residential student, please visit Undergraduate Admissions. At SPCS, we specialize in bachelor's degree completion programs for transfer students. We charge tuition by the enrolled semester-hour, enabling our students to complete their degrees on their terms in evening and weekend classes. We offer on-campus majors in Liberal Arts (including an Elementary Education concentration toward teacher licensure), Data Analytics, Human Resource Management, Information Security, IT Management and Paralegal Studies. We offer an online-only major in Interdisciplinary Studies. Our on-campus majors include online and in-class/online hybrid course options, but all require on-campus experiences. Our online major requires no on-campus coursework.

The School of Professional & Continuing Studies has been serving the needs of non-residential, part-time students in Richmond since it was established in 1962, even before the VCCS was established. Our class sizes are small (averaging under 10 students) and our faculty are professionals working in their fields, bringing their workplace experience and expertise into the classroom. Students in our programs network with faculty and fellow students alike, ensuring opportunities for professional growth and career advancement. And we offer career services to our students and graduates for life, supporting your career goals until retirement.
