Health Science: Public Health Major, A.S.

PurposeThis curriculum is designed for students seeking to pursue an Associates of Sciences degree in Public Health, designed for transfer. Students will be introduced to public health principles, practices, and policies. Students will be provided with an overview of public health systems globally to better understand the trends within public health and the public health effects on individuals and populations. They will learn about social determinants of health, the influence of culture on health, learn about health disparities, and will learn about the impact of effective health education and health promotion. After completing this major, students will be prepared to continue their education at a partnering four-year university.
