Required Professional Studies Courses: Teaching, Learning and Human Development, Culturally Responsive and Restorative Practices, Teaching Exceptional Learners, Designing Curriculum for Assessment and Differentiated Instruction, Literacy Development, Content Area Methods, Educational Research, Psychology, Pedagogy and Practicum for Elementary Classroom, and Teaching Internship. Required Content Area Courses: Environmental Field Methods, American History, American Government, Mathematics, English and Creative Writing, and additional lab science. Considerations When Selecting Courses |
Students should expect to complete PSYC 101: Introductory Psychology and PSYC 201: Developmental Psychology, in their first year. In addition, those interested in elementary education should begin working toward meeting their supplemental courses such as lab science, history, geography, american government, writing, and children's literature.
