This program is designed for those seeking entry level employment as electricians, residential wire installers, and workers in the electrical trades. The diploma provides building and construction training based on the current Virginia adoption of the International Building Code (IRC). The track provides training and a pathway that provides training based on the current Virginia adoption of the National Electric Code (NEC).

Considerations for Selecting Degree The Construction Technology Diploma in Electrical is designed to teach the technical skills needed for employment in the electrical field. This diploma is a G3 program with stackable certifications. Level I and II certifications earned are 5 Greenlee certifications through NC3, 2 Snap-On meters, and an OSHA 30 Card. Completion of Level I and II certifications in the first and second semesters will count for one year of experience needed to sit for a Journeyman’s License.

Associate Transfer Degree Completion Students who transfer with a completed Associate degree will be awarded SDV 100 and will have their transcript evaluated for other individual course transfer. Students who transfer with a completed Bachelor degree from a U.S. college or university will be awarded SDV 100, ENG 111 and ENG 112. The transcript will be evaluated for other individual course transfer.
