The Associate of Applied Science in Technical Studies Carpentry (718-10) provides flexible alternatives for meeting student and employer needs. This program features a combination of Carpentry and General Education courses designed to meet educational and employment goals. You must complete two approved career studies certificates along with additional core and general education courses. Curriculum will be approved by the Chief Academic Officer or designee to ensure a coherent plan of study.

Considerations for Selecting Degree | The Associate of Applied Science Technical Studies in Carpentry program is designed to teach the technical skills needed for employment in the construction field. Â This degree is a G3 program containing stackable certifications. Level I and II certifications are based on the current Virginia adoption of the International Building Code (IRC). Completion of Level I and II certifications in the first and second semesters will count for one year of experience needed to sit for a Building Contractors License. Completing the Associate of Applied Science Technical Studies in Carpentry will count for two years of experience required to sit for a Building Contractor License. |
