This career studies certificate program is designed to prepare currently certified Virginia Advanced EMT and/or EMT Intermediate providers with the knowledge and skills to become competent, entry level paramedics. Students who successfully complete program requirements and attain national or state certification as a paramedic are prepared to enter the workforce and provide advanced life support care in areas such as hospitals, transport agencies, fire-rescue-emergency medical services organizations, military, volunteer services, and other fields that require emergency services and/or for patients requiring emergency medical services.

Associate Transfer Degree Completion Individuals who have already completed an associates degree should submit their transcripts for evaluation and transfer credit determination. The student development course requirement (SDV 100) is waived for those individuals.
