Considerations for Selecting Degree This curriculum provides both hands-on training and a detailed knowledge base in the most prevalent welding and cutting processes used in industry today. Students will also become proficient with metalworking tools used in manufacturing and fabrication, learn to read technical drawings, develop basic hand drafting skills,Ê and train for welding certification tests in structural plate and pressure pipe. Welding is a manual skill that takes many, many years to master. The welding certificate program provides a firm foundation of skills students will be able to build their career upon.

Associate Transfer Degree Completion The student development (SDV 100) requirement at SVCC is waived for students who have completed an associate or baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution. All other coursework is evaluated and transferred as applicable to your degree.
Completion of Associate Degree Concurrent with High School Students earning an associate degree while in high school are not eligible for guaranteed admission programs. All courses are evaluated and transferred as applicable to your degree.
Credit for Prior Learning We accept AP, IB, Dantes, and CLEP results for college credit if the score earned meets college expectations.
