This four-semester program prepares students for entry-level jobs in machining. Students can earn industry-recognized certifications in manual and Computer Numerical Control machining.
Outcomes
By the completion of this program, students will be expected to demonstrate an introductory level of competency in the following skills:
- Calculate and interpret linear and micrometer measurements relevant to machining operations.
- Earn nationally-recognized Level One Materials, Measurement, and Safety (MMS) credentials through the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
- Earn nationally-recognized Level One Computer Numerical Controls (CNC) credentials through the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
- Write procedures using terminology and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) to produce numerical control code for machines.
