The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Emergency Medical Services is designed to produce high-quality, entry-level paramedics who can serve the community with advanced life support care via the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards (NEMSES). Program graduates are eligible to sit for the National Registry Paramedic cognitive and psychomotor examination which will make them eligible for certification in Virginia.

EMS 100 - CPR for Healthcare Providers or equivalent required prior to enrolling in EMS courses.

  • Create a schedule for all required courses, pay attention to prerequisites and when courses are offered, complete your first math and English courses in your first year

Associate Transfer Degree Completion SDV 100, College Success Skills, will be granted to all students who have completed an associate degree or baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

BRCC will award applicable transfer credit for courses completed at other post-secondary educational institutions, provided certain criteria are met.
