This CSC begins training skilled metal-working machine tool operators to set up and operate conventional and numerically controlled lathes, milling machines, grinders, drills, heat-treating equipment and related precision measuring tools. The curriculum is designed to prepare persons to continue in the CSC in Machine Tech II and the Certificate in Machine Tool Operations.

Considerations for Selecting Degree This program is designed to provide students with an introduction to the machining industry.   Students will develop skills in blueprint reading, drafting, and soft skills to better prepare them for employment.

Associate Transfer Degree Completion Students who transfer with a completed Associate degree will be awarded SDV 100 and will have their transcript evaluated for other individual course transfer. Students who transfer with a completed Bachelor degree from a U.S. college or university will be awarded SDV 100, ENG 111 and ENG 112. The transcript will be evaluated for other individual course transfer.
