Considerations for Selecting Degree The Early Childhood Development program at Reynolds has stacking credentials. Students can earn the 16 credit Career Studies Certificate and the 18 credit Advanced Career Studies Certificate. The two combine to create the 34 credit Certificate. At that point, students are only 31 credits away from the Applied Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development.
Considerations When Selecting Courses

Take ENG 112 as soon as you can because it is a prerequisite to ENG 250 (or any English literature).

  • Create a schedule for all required courses, pay attention to prerequisites and when courses are offered, complete your first math and English courses in your first year
  • Connect with an advisor at your community college and J Sargeant Reynolds Community College within your first year via College Connect
Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses There are scholarship opportunities unique to early childhood certificates and degrees. Students who have a current CDA may be eligible for “credit by able.”
Doing More With Your Degree Students with the Early Childhood Development Certificate are qualified for many employment opportunities in the early childhood field.
