Career Studies Certificate in Pre-Nursing

Career Studies Certificate
Rappahannock Community College

Prepares students for competitive admission or guaranteed admission to the Associate Degree in the Nursing (ADN) program or the Practical Nursing (PN) Certificate program with the majority of general education courses completed. All courses in the first semester of this CSC earn curricular credits needed for ranking of applicants. Provides an occupational credential as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) for employment allowing students admitted to the nursing programs to be employed in health care settings. Students are eligible to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) exam leading to certification as a nurse aide in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

What Should I Consider When Selecting Courses

Students must select a course for each course requirement from the applicable required course list.

  • Create a schedule for all required courses, pay attention to prerequisites and when courses are offered, complete your first math and English courses in your first year
  • Connect with an advisor at your community college and Rappahannock Community College within your first year via College Connect
