CMSC311: COMPUTER ORGANIZATION
CMSC 311 Computer Organization Semester course; 3 lecture hours (delivered online, face-to-face or hybrid). 3 credits. Prerequisite: CMSC 302 with a minimum grade of C. Introduction to the basic organization of computers including elementary digital logic design, processor and arithmetic/logic unit design, data paths, memory hierarchy, I/O devices, instruction set architecture and addressing modes. Students working toward a computer science degree or certificate program may not receive credit for both CMSC 311 and EGRE 364.
