It covers the major classifications of substances and emphasizes the complex interaction between substance use and the individual, with a particular focus on developmental factors. Students will engage with programmatic, prevention, and psychoeducational resources from leading authorities such as the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), gaining practical insights into evidence-based strategies for addressing substance use in diverse populations.
