CS270: INTRO COMPUTER ARCHITECTURE II
Fundamentals of the architecture and operation of modern computers. Building an ALU. The cache-Ram interaction. The virtual memory system. The Fetch/Execute cycle. Implementing a set of the ALU, Load/Store and Branch instructions in a single cycle implementation. Basics of microprogramming. Design of the control unit. A pipelined implementation. Multicores, multiprocessors and clusters. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CS 170.
