MATH131: Mathematical Thinking

An introduction to mathematical thinking through various studies. Mathematical patterns in the world around us through topics such as the Golden Ration, Fibonacci series, Pi, fractals, chaos. Basic number theory and modular arithmetic applied to cryptology, check digit schemes, and music theory. Introductory statistics and finance. 3 credits.
