This course introduces the fundamental and governing principles of systems of forces acting on rigid bodies, beamsĀ and columns; and the analysis of truss, frameĀ and machine structures. Topics include external and internal equilibrium of rigid bodies; systems of force and moment vectors; centroids; friction; loading that results in uniaxial, shear, flexure, and torsion stresses and strains; buckling; and strength of materials.
