Students will be introduced to hands-on making of sculpture using a variety of materials and forming techniques. The class will center on creating 3-dimensional projects using design problem-solving skills, discovering and working through material constraints and manipulation. Materials such as plaster, wood, metal, rubber, renewable naturals, and plastic will be covered. The study of historical sculptural genres and practices will be conducted through lecture, readings, and video interviews. This course counts for the CORE 150 requirement. C150
