Read this document to learn about tips to transfer academic accommodation for disabilities between institutions and/or establish accommodations at your new institution.

Ensure that all of your academic accessibility information is up-to-date.

To avoid delays, know your institutional deadlines and timelines for submitting documentation.

Review the Office of Educational Accessibility (or Disability Services) website at your college to familiarize yourself with their guidelines and processes.

Make an appointment with staff in the Office of Educational Accessibility before or during the first week of the semester.

Request documentation pertaining to health, disability and diagnosis from your former high school or college as soon as possible. Or request documentation from your physician or other medical professional prior to requesting accommodations (required at a number of institutions).

Ensure that your instructors are provided with documentation related to their classes and your unique circumstances.
