By meeting the following criteria, students who complete the prescribed curriculum and meet the criteria are guaranteed admission into Radford University and directly into Healthcare Administration.

Earn a transfer associate degree.

Earn a minimum of 2.8 GPA for the associate degree.

B.S. in Healthcare Administration courses require students to engage with faculty and peers through multiple synchronous Zoom sessions each semester.

You will engage in a real-world culminating learning experience. The program offers every student an opportunity to apply acquired knowledge and skills through the completion of an internship or professional seminar. You will partner with a health organization in your community to complete either a track in: Healthcare Administration, Medical Practice Management, Long Term Care or Professional Seminar.

Students will have access to a professional career coach to assist with resume writing, interviewing techniques, and employment searching.

The B.S. in Healthcare Administration program at Radford University is a member of The Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA).

Students and alumni are actively involved in community service, outreach activities, and special events, including the Virginia Medical Reserve Corps, The American Red Cross, Hands-on-Healthcare, Special Olympics Healthy Athletes, National Health Education Week, and National Healthcare Administration Week.

What Is The Impact On My Degree Of Work I Have Already Completed?

Associate Transfer Degree Completion: The completion of the transfer-oriented degree program will satisfy the REAL Curriculum (lower division/general education) requirements. Students will need to complete all other University, college, and departmental requirements in order to obtain the baccalaureate degree from RU.

Dual Enrollment – Completion of Associate Degree in HS: Students completing the associate degree in high school should apply using the freshman application. If admitted, the student will receive the benefits associated with the transferable associate degree (as noted prior).

Credit for Prior Learning: AP, IB, and CLEP are evaluated for credits (based on receipt and evaluation of official scores).

Catalog Year: Students will be subject to the catalog in effect at the time of enrollment at RU unless otherwise requested.

Other Than Classes, Are There Other Program Requirements?

The B.S. in Healthcare Administration requires students to complete their Plan of Study with a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA. All program-specific and minor courses require a minimum letter grade of “C” or higher.

All students are required to complete a culminating learning experience through one of the specialized tracks offered. Internships range from 120 to 400 hours depending on the chosen track. Students with prior healthcare experience may choose the professional seminar track with no internship requirements.
