Guaranteed Admission Agreement

Virginia Community College (VCCS) students graduating from transfer-oriented degree programs with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a four-point scale are guaranteed admission.

This policy applies to undergraduate majors.

Students must have upheld standards of student conduct. VCCS students who do not meet these terms may still apply and be considered for admission, although admissions are not guaranteed.

Students with 2.2-2.5 GPAs are encouraged to apply. We always review individual cases.

Associate Transfer Degree Completion: This degree fulfills all Marymount general education requirements except for Theological Inquiry (TRS 100), which can be taken in the first year.

Dual Enrollment: Courses may count toward general education requirements. Completing an Associate Degree through dual enrollment does not automatically satisfy all general education requirements at Marymount; all dual enrollment courses will be considered on an individual basis.

The Bachelor in Business Administration (B.B.A.) program is unique in that it offers a breadth of understanding of business as well the opportunity to explore more deeply (via minors) traditional areas of business (e.g., Marketing or Finance), or topics with a technology emphasis (e.g., Cybersecurity or Data Science).

Internships integrate classroom learning with hands-on professional experience. Marymount B.B.A. students have worked as interns at Booz Allen Hamilton, Ernst & Young, Marriott, Morgan Stanley, National Geographic Society, SAIC, the Smithsonian Institution, United Way, U.S. Congress, Volkswagen Group of America, and the Washington Commanders.

As part of the College of Business, Innovation, Leadership, and Technology (BILT), the B.B.A. offers a unique opportunity to explore and build connections between business and technology. You can combine state-of-the-art, foundational business courses with minors in Cybersecurity, Data Science, or other IT-focused programs, as well as Fashion Merchandising, Design Studies, or Sports Management. There are 20 minors for B.B.A. students to choose from, including a new minor in Entrepreneurship.

Students pursuing a BBA are encouraged to satisfy major requirements through a variety of interdisciplinary minors offered in the College. Students can also get a jump start on graduate coursework through our BBA to MBA pathway program, and accelerate their master degree. Students may apply once they have at least 60 credits earned.
Other Than Classes, Are There Other Program Requirements?

There are three components to the BBA program. First, is a series of general education courses required of all students at Marymount University - The Liberal Arts Core (LAC). These non-business courses offer students the breadth of knowledge and skills needed to succeed in today's complex global, business environment.

Second, is The BBA Core. That is, all BBA students take courses in accounting, business law, economics, finance, international business, management, management science, and marketing. These courses create the foundation upon which students build their business expertise.

Third, typically beginning in the junior year, students begin their deep dive into an area of specialization - The Minor. The Minor is a means of creating a highly customized program to meet students' interests and provide them with the credentials and skills that employers expect.
