Transfer Admission Requirements

RN to BSN applicants must complete the following basic eligibility requirements:

 

  • Completion of the AAS-Nursing Degree and current U.S.-based RN License by start of program.

  • Apply to Mason as a degree-seeking, transfer student.

  • Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5.

  • Complete Nursing Prerequisites, Mason Core, and Electives with a grade of C or better.

  • Submit a resume.

  • Submit online BSN Application: upload required materials and pay the $60 non-refundable BSN Application Fee.

What Should I Consider When Selecting Courses?

  • Create a schedule for all required courses, pay attention to prerequisites and when courses are offered, and complete your first math and English courses in your first year. For help, see Transfer Steps and Resource Center at www.TransferVirginia.org

  • Once admitted to the RN to BSN program, students will be connected with the program coordinator to discuss nursing course selection.

  • Program offers flexible, full-time or part-time options.

  • For students who have finished an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing and currently hold an RN License.
