What Is The Impact On My Degree Of Work I Have Already Completed?

• Associate Transfer Degree Completion: The completion of the transfer-oriented degree program will satisfy the REAL Curriculum (lower division/general education) requirements. Students will need to complete all other University, college, and departmental requirements in order to obtain the baccalaureate degree from RU.

• Dual Enrollment – Completion of Associate Degree in HS: Students completing the associate degree in high school should apply using the freshman application. If admitted, the student will receive the benefits associated with the transferable associate degree (as noted prior).

• Credit for Prior Learning: AP, IB, and CLEP will be evaluated for credits (based on receipt and evaluation of official scores).

• Catalog Year: Students will be subject to the catalog in effect at the time of enrollment at RU unless otherwise requested.

Do More With Your Degree!

• When completing the IDSE degree and licensure program, you can concurrently earn an add-on endorsement in Special Education: General Curriculum, K-6.

Other Than Classes, Are There Other Program Requirements?

• Two of the four subtests must be taken before the first field experience, EDUC 430, and should be attempted during the summer prior to transferring to Radford University. The additional two subtests must be taken prior to admission to the EDUC 491 practicum. Passing scores on Praxis II: Elementary, Multiple Subjects Assessments, all subtests required for full admission to the Teacher Education Program and the student teaching.

• Passing scores on Praxis: Teaching Reading, Elementary prior to degree completion and licensure application.

• Support provided for preparation for licensure assessments.
