Guaranteed Admission Agreement

• Virginia Community College (VCCS) students graduating from transfer-oriented degree programs with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a four-point scale are guaranteed admission.

• This policy applies to undergraduate majors.

• Students must have upheld standards of student conduct. VCCS students who do not meet these terms may still apply and be considered for admission, although admissions are not guaranteed.

• Students with 2.2-2.5 GPAs are encouraged to apply. We always review individual cases.

• Get a head start on the rapidly changing world of business with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree from Marymount University. With a B.S. in Business degree from Marymount, you will acquire the knowledge and competencies of basic business, marketing, and accounting concepts. What Is The Impact On My Degree Of Work I Have Already Completed?

• Associate Transfer Degree Completion: This degree fulfills all Marymount general education requirements except for Theological Inquiry (TRS 100), which can be taken in the first year.

• Dual Enrollment: Courses may count toward general education requirements. Completing an Associate Degree through dual enrollment does not automatically satisfy all general education requirements at Marymount; all dual enrollment courses will be considered on an individual basis.

• Credit for Prior Learning: Credit for prior learning, including CLEP examinations and AP and IB test scores, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis for Marymount credit. Visit www.transfervirginia.org, Check All My Credits, to see how your prior learning will earn credit at Marymount.

• Catalog Year: Transfer students follow the requirements in the catalog year that they first enter Marymount or the catalog year aligning with program enrollment in the VCCS (within 3 years.)

• Total Credits: Typical semester courses at Marymount carry 3 credits, 1 credit for lab courses.

Do More With Your Degree!

• Students pursuing a B.S. in Business are encouraged to satisfy major requirements through a variety of specializations offered in the School of Business. Students can also get a jump start on graduate coursework through our B.S. in Business to MBA pathway program, and accelerate their master degree. Students may apply once they have at least 60 credits earned.

Other Than Classes, Are There Other Program Requirements?

• There are three components to the B.S. in Business program. First, is a series of general education courses required of all students at Marymount University - The Liberal Arts Core (LAC). These non-business courses offer students the breadth of knowledge and skills needed to succeed in today's complex global, business environment.

• Second, is The Business Core. That is, all Business students take courses in accounting, business law, economics, finance, international business, management, management science, and marketing. These courses create the foundation upon which students build their business expertise.

• Third, typically beginning in the junior year, students begin their deep dive into an area of specialization. The specialization is a means of selecting a focus area to meet students' interests and provide them with the credentials and skills that employers expect.
