Even when the general-education certificate or a transfer-oriented associate degree satisfies general-education requirements, specific majors may have additional departmental requirements or prerequisites. Those applying as first-year students or transfer students to the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Architecture, McIntire School of Commerce, School of Education and Human Development, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, School of Nursing, or Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy should apply through the Office of Undergraduate Admission using the Common Application. Those applying for transfer to the University's online degree completion programs should apply through the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) using the SCPS application portal.
