Laurel Ridge Community College
Industrial robotics are transforming health care, manufacturing, construction, warehousing, and service industries. There has been an increased use of automated systems in these industries due to the effective deployment of low-cost sensors, motors, design tools, and controllers. Upon certificate completion, students will have an understanding of industironal robots and automation safety procedures, efficiency methods, fluid power (pneumatics and hydraulics), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and an understanding of basic design and implementation principles in manufacturing work cells. Credits earned in this certificate program may also be applied toward the college’s Associate of Applied Science degree in Technical Studies.
