Bachelor of ScienceFerrum College
The Ferrum College Media and Communication program prepares students for careers in communications and public relations, broadcast media including television and radio, and entry level editorial opportunities in writing and reporting at media outlets including newspapers and magazines. Students develop practical and theoretical knowledge in public relations, journalism, broadcast audio and television production and the way sports media operates regarding licensure, broadcast agreements, sponsorships and other vagaries of the sports media industry. Graduates are prepared for careers in public relations and communications at institutions of higher education, public and private companies with a need for outward facing external relations, writing, and reporting at local and national news media outlets, local and national radio broadcasting outlets, and social media management. communications, public relations, or broadcast media.
