An introduction to the visual arts in terms of both analysis and practice. Half the class will be dedicated to the study of the construction and analysis of a wide variety of images created around the world, including painting, sculpture, architecture, photography, graphic arts, decorative arts, textiles, film, theater, fashion, advertising, and video games. The other half will cover the fundamentals of creating art by exploring various methods and materials. This course counts for the CORE 150 requirement. C150
