  • Admission to these health science programs is competitive, requiring completion of admission prerequisites, and students are NOT guaranteed admission under terms of this agreement.

  • VCU provides specific admission information, including course prerequisites for admission, through VCU Transfer Maps (https://majormaps.vcu.edu/transfer).

  • Prospective clinical radiation sciences and nursing (traditional program) applicants should consult VCU Transfer Maps (https://majormaps.vcu.edu/transfer) to determine whether they should apply to VCU after completing 30 credits at community college (to avoid earning excess credits after transfer).

  • Students interested in health administration or health services (rather than health science programs) should review VCU transfer map for B.S. in Health Services.

  • Due to competitiveness of these health science programs, VCU recommends students consider back-up major.

This agreement does not guarantee your enrollment in any specific major.

 

Guaranteed Admission Agreement Requirements

  • Earn a transfer associate degree or Uniform Certificate of General Studies.

  • Earn minimum GPA of 2.5 for associate degree. VCU recognizes cumulative GPA as recorded on VCCS transcript and will not recalculate based on multiple course attempts.

  • Complete minimum 30 credits at VCCS institution

  • Earn grades of C or higher in all community college courses.

  • Students should review VCU Transfer Maps (https://majormaps.vcu.edu/transfer) for course recommendations for all VCU undergraduate programs.

  • Create schedule for all required courses, pay attention to prerequisites and when courses offered, complete first math and English courses in first year. For help, see Transfer Steps and Resource Center at www.TransferVirginia.org.

Which Majors Will Be Available To Me Through This GAA?

 

What Is The Impact On My Degree Of Work I Have Already Completed?

  • Associate Transfer Degree Completion: Completion of transfer associate degree results in all lower-division general education requirements being met when you transfer to VCU.

  • Dual Enrollment - Completion of Associate Degree in HS: Completion of associate degree concurrent with high school results in 60 credits of coursework applied towards degree and VCU general education courses satisfied. High school students should apply to VCU as freshman applicants for orientation and engagement purposes.

  • Credit for Prior Learning: VCU accepts AP, IB, Cambridge, CLEP, DANTES, and military credits.

  • Catalog Year: VCU will honor degree requirements of VCU Undergraduate Bulletin in effect at time of student first post-high school enrollment into appropriate associate degree at two-year institution. Students must stay enrolled at community college and take no more than four years to complete degree. Students must also enroll at VCU within one year of completing associate degree.
